Homefruit sorbet
recipe
- peel, de-seed and freeze the fruit.
- add the now completely frozen fruit to a blender with a few drops of lemon juice.
- depending on the sweetness of your fruit, you can add honey.
- blend till no chunks remains and you get a slushie-like consistency.
- pour into a container and cover with plastic film.
- freeze for an hour or so.
- scoop and serve, optionally, with a pinch of tajin or drizzle of condensed milk.
tips
- the fruits need to be frozen solid otherwise you’ll just get juice-like consistency and nothing close to a sorbet.
- please bring your best and strongest blender to the task.
- using the mango peels as bowls to serve the sorbet is pretty cool!
- mixing salt and red chili powder makes a good tajin substitute.
